Second Life Training Simulations

Perhaps the most important and strongest feature of Second Life is the ability to create training simulations. They can target both "soft skills" (teamwork, leadership, sales, etc.), and technical skills (equipment training, technical support and others). Simulations can be used by a group of participants from different locations. Moreover, participants can later review their actions step by step, critique their actions and learn from their mistakes. Additional benefit of Second Life simulations is the ability to record all actions and produce objective measurable results both on individual and team level.

We offer ready-to-go training simulations that you can license and start using right away, or we can expand / customize them to better fit your needs:

  • Teamwork Simulation. As a manager, you probably want to measure such parameters as team effectiveness and speed, individual effectiveness and speed, participation, tendency to finish work and help others, or, conversely, tendency to disrupt other’s work, patience or impatience. These are exactly the parameters that Teamwork Tester both measures and trains.

  • Communications / Sales Simulations - almost any company uses some form of communication training: to train sales people in successfull engagement techniques, to teach purchasing department staff to successfully communicate with outside sales people and negotiate a better deal, to teach customer representatives how to deal with various types of customers, including disruptive ones, to teach managers how to communicate with employees - the list goes on and on. We all know, however, that listening to the lecture on how to communicate is quite different from being in a real-life situation when an angry customer is scrweaming at the top of his lungs. Here is where Second Life communication simulation come in play. It allows trainee to practice communication with various personalities in the environment maximally approaching real-life...

  • Working Under Pressure Simulation - almost all job interviews include questions such as "How do you work under pressure?", "Can you multitask?", "How do you manage stress?". The reason for this is obvious, as is the understanding that the answer you hear does not necessarily correspond to reallity. Working Under Pressure simulation places person in a situation where trainee needs to complete several tasks, with various adjustable levels of pressure being introduced...

  • Robotic Instructors - are avatars which are operated by a computer program. They are logged in Second Life on demand and provide a guided tour or lesson(s) for trainees. Robotic Instructors can be used to demonstrate technical equipment operation, certain procedures, provide guided tour of a location, etc. During the session robotic instructors can ask trainee to repeat specific steps and provide trainee with a feedback. Robotic Instructors are often used for new hire orientation and onboarding, but can be also used in any situation where you need a guide to accompany and demonstrate something to trainee or a visitor...
